The stage history and what comes next
The draft was issued for public enquiry in June 2026, the ballot closed on 7 August 2026, and ISO records stage 40.60, close of voting, effective 8 September 2026. The next recorded steps are the full report, the approval stage, publication and national adoption. ISO has published no date for any of them.

What the history shows
The national body notices put the enquiry window at 15 June to 7 August 2026, and the Serbian project page records close of voting on 8 September 2026. The DIN draft record gives a date of issue of 12 June 2026 and describes 41 English pages, or 105 pages in the German and English edition. Those are consistent facts about the same draft, read from different national publishers.
What to diarise
- The full report. The comments from the enquiry are resolved and the text moves toward approval.
- Approval. The final text is registered for formal approval. No date is published.
- Publication. The standard becomes available, usually at stage 60.60.
- National adoption. National bodies publish their editions, often with a transition window.
The watch checks the ISO record and the public preview for these transitions and emails the diff. The planning date on this site is recalculated only when the public record changes, not when a stage slips in conversation.
Why the estimate is labelled
A planning date that looks like an ISO date becomes a deadline nobody agreed. We label ours an estimate on every page and explain its basis, so a reader can replace it with their own planning assumption without having to unpick our claim.
